Automatically Records Measurement Data in the Dedicated App to Support Daily Blood Pressure Management

CITIZEN Systems Japan Co., Ltd. (Head office: Nishitokyo, Tokyo; President: Katsutoshi Mukojima; hereinafter “the Company”) will launch two Bluetooth®-enabled CITIZEN blood pressure monitors—an upper arm model and a wrist model—that can be connected to the Company’s proprietary smartphone app, “Health Scan,” through simple button operation. The products will be available from May 13, 2026.

In recent years, international guidelines, including those issued by the WHO/ISH (World Health Organization / International Society of Hypertension), as well as guidelines in Japan and overseas, have indicated the importance of continuously managing blood pressure not only at medical institutions but also in daily life. As a result, interest in daily blood pressure management, including home blood pressure measurement, has been growing.

These products inherit the simple operability developed through the currently available entry-level models, “CHUN380” and “CHWL350,” while adding Bluetooth® functionality. With the dedicated “Health Scan” app, users can connect the device with a single button operation and automatically transfer measurement data. This helps reduce the effort required to record results in a conventional paper blood pressure log, while allowing users to visualize daily changes in blood pressure through graphs in the app and continue managing their health easily on their smartphone.

The products also feature a universal design that takes into consideration first-time blood pressure monitor users, helping support the health maintenance of a wide range of users.

The Company will continue to expand its lineup of products compatible with “Health Scan” and support health management that can be continued as part of daily life.

1. Connects to the Dedicated App with Simple Button Operation
   Users can complete Bluetooth® connection simply by launching the dedicated “Health Scan” app on their smartphone and pressing and holding the memory button on the blood pressure monitor for at least two seconds. The clock built into the device records the measurement time, and the measurement results are automatically transferred to the app, allowing users to easily manage their daily health status on their smartphone.
   

   

2. Dedicated App That Visualizes Measurement Data and Supports Health Maintenance

   “Health Scan” is an app that allows users to record and visualize measurement results on their smartphone from Bluetooth®-enabled devices manufactured by the Company, including blood pressure monitors, thermometers, and body composition monitors.

   § Intuitive graph display: Users can understand trends in measurement data, and the app can calculate average blood pressure in addition to systolic and diastolic blood pressure.

   § Classification display to help users understand their numbers: Measurement values for “blood pressure and pulse,” “average blood pressure,” and “pulse pressure” are displayed by category, making it easy to monitor daily changes.

   § Rich content: Users can enjoy learning accurate health information through content such as “Health Tips” and “Health Quizzes.”

   § External integration: The app also supports data integration with Apple Health (iOS) and Health Connect (Android).

3. Designed with Ease of Use in Mind
   The products feature a large, easy-to-read LCD screen and buttons that are easy to press. Even first-time blood pressure monitor users and elderly users can clearly check measurement values and operate the device intuitively.

4. Guide Functions That Support Accurate Measurement
   Icons notify users of “cuff* wrapping errors,” “body movement” during measurement, and irregular “pulse interval variation.” By detecting errors and irregularities during measurement, these functions support more accurate blood pressure measurement.

5. Cuff Design Focused on Easy Wearing
   § Upper arm model “CHUN390C”: Features the Company’s proprietary “Kurutto Cuff,” designed to prevent the hose from tangling and make storage easier.

   § Wrist model “CHWL350C”: Features a hard cuff that can be easily worn with one hand.
